Delicious Hot Chocolate Recipes
The mix can be stored in an airtight jar for up to 3 months. Transfer the mix to airtight containers for gifting. Add in different mix-ins to the hot chooclate , such as peppermint extract and almond extract.
Powdered milk has a shelf life of about 18 months. Over time the flavor of the mix will get less intense and rich however. If you add more perishable ingredients such as marshmallows or chocolate chips it will not stay fresh as long. Store the hot cocoa mix in an airtight container for up to 6 months. I like to use a small Mason jar or another decorative jar with an airtight lid.
Printable Recipe for Hot Chocolate Mix
Add some marshmallows or peppermint extract for an extra flavor boost. White hot chocolate mix — substitute 1 (3.4-oz.) package of white chocolate pudding mix for the cocoa powder, plus a few changes to the ratios throughout. If using the non-dairy creamer in the mix, place 2 to 3 heaping tablespoons of the hot chocolate mix in a mug. Top with chocolate chips and miniature marshmallows. You can put your hot chocolate mix into any kind of covered container. Some folks like to use candy bags, but we love the simplicity of packing the mix into Ball® Regular Mouth Pint Jars.
